Do It Yourself Accounting Software is Not a Bargain

Even When it is FREE!

It is not easy to admit you have made a mistake. So we often do not take ownership of what Billy Joel would say is truly ours. For the past few months I have been giving out logins and passwords for free accounting software. This software was not setup and essential elements were missing such as the chart of accounts and offset accounts for journals. So in order to use it you had to be an accountant or bookkeeper. The net result was that many people did not use the online software that could help them. They were not aware of what they needed to make it work well.

In the last week I corrected this mistake by requesting information that allowed me to setup a chart of accounts and journal offsets for new sign ups. However this still leaves out in the cold those that have not had this done for them. So I am offering to anyone that has a login to send me an email with the following information:

1. Nature of the business that you will be doing the accounting for - for example : retail, wholesale and product or service

2. Phone number to reach you if I have any further questions

3. What year you will begin entering data for

If you send me the above information I will set up your chart of accounts and journal offsets. This will save you time and aggravation and make your accounting software much more useful.
