IRS Form 4506

If you need to get a copy of a tax return of W2 from the IRS then you will need to file a IRS Form 4506. This form is useful also for individuals or banks that need to confirm that a return bein shown as a copy is an actual facsimile of the return tht was filed with the Internal Revenue Service.

Sometimes the IRS Form 4506T is used instead of the form 4506. This would be the case when an actual copy is not needed but a transcript will suffice in orderto verify particular numbers on the tax return.
